A brick-tastic event is coming to The Gardens Mall starting next Friday with the LEGO Takeover! exhibit featuring popular characters, a LEGO art gallery, special events, and of course lots of brick building!
Kids and adults will be able to enjoy life-sized LEGO creations featuring popular characters from LEGO Ninjago, LEGO Batman Movie, Scooby-Doo, Disney princesses, Star Wars, Marvel and DC superheroes, as well as explore a jungle display complete with animals. In all, the mall will display nearly 50 LEGO models on both of their floors. These will be some impressive-looking models, with Wonder Woman alone taking 95 hours to design and 220 hours to build out of 22,000 bricks. LEGO Batman took up 340 hours of production and 54,000 bricks to build, according to the press release.
With so much creativity on display, you and your little ones will no doubt be inspired to come up with your own masterpieces, so head on down to the Nordstrom Court and get building! A LEGO art gallery will allow your creations to be put on display, or build a sleek race car and compete with others on the LEGO Race Ramps. There will also be a LEGO Pop Up Shop at the Nordstrom Court with kits and products for sale. You can also purchase LEGO kits to donate to Bricks Busting Boredom, a non-profit that donates new and used LEGO products to give to children in local hospitals.
Plenty of special events are scheduled during the exhibit, including the grand opening event on Saturday, April 29th with a brick building contest. Guests are also encouraged to visit the mall on Saturday, May 6th at 6:30pm for a special free screening of The LEGO Movie. There will also be a Robotic Sunday event on May 7th from 12pm-4pm featuring robotics creations and a live scrimmage between teams from the FIRST LEGO League.
