Have you ever been at a dinosaur exhibit in a museum and wondered what these incredible creatures must have looked like out in the wild? Well wonder no more with the new “Lost World of Dinosaurs” coming to Flamingo Gardens in Miami starting May 27, 2017.
Life-size dinosaurs will take over the historic landmark site this summer as part of a traveling exhibit that is coming to South Florida for the first time ever. World-renowned paleontologist Guy Darrough created 27 realistic dinosaurs that will blend in with their natural habitat within the glorious and highly picturesque Flamingo Gardens. Guests can even find dinosaur bones at the Dino Dig and check out an actual fossilized dinosaur egg.
From the Flamingo Gardens website:
Guy Darrough’s dinosaur models are some of the most authentic and technically correct recreations in the business and are painted by renown Paleo artist Shane Foulkes, at Lost World Studios. His dinosaurs have been exhibited in botanical gardens, zoos, and museums across the country including Naples Botanical Garden, McKee Botanical Garden, The Maryland Zoo, San Antonio Zoo, Powell Gardens, Missouri Botanical Garden, and St. Louis Zoo to name a few. The dinosaurs are currently on display at Leu Gardens in Orlando, Florida, and will then travel to Flamingo Gardens.
Guy Darrough is a self-taught and highly accomplished fossil collector, fossil preparation expert, and illustrator who has worked in paleontology and related areas for 40 years. He has collected and studied fossils in Canada, Morocco, and many parts of the United States. Guy’s accomplishments include a premiere collection of Missouri fossils, and making significant discoveries in paleontology.
Guy Darrough’s Lost World of Dinosaurs exhibit is included with admission to Flamingo Gardens and will run until September 4, 2017. Tickets cost $19.95 adults ages 12+, $12.95 ages 3-11, and free ages 2 and under.
