Disney shares first look at Star Wars Land model ahead of D23 Expo 2017

With the highly-anticipated D23 Expo 2017 finally here, Disney has released a first look at a very detailed model that represents the Star Wars-inspired areas that are currently under construction at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World as well as in Disneyland.

According to Disney Parks Blog, “both Star Wars-inspired lands will transport guests to a never-before-seen planet, a remote trading port and one of the last stops before Wild Space, where Star Wars characters and their stories come to life.”

Here, guests will find themselves in the middle of the action at two signature attractions: one that lets guests take the controls of Millennium Falcon on a customized secret mission, and an epic Star Wars adventure that puts guests in the middle of a climactic battle between the First Order and the Resistance.

As has been noted before, this new land will feature a never-before-seen planet in the Star Wars universe but it will be populated with well known creatures, characters and ships such as the Millennium Falcon. We can’t wait!

Though a firm opening date has yet to be revealed, we’re hoping that this little teaser is just the first of what promises to be many revelations to come at the D23 Expo 2017 that is currently underway in Anaheim, California. (Perhaps they’ve settled on an official name and will announce it?)

Our recent visit to Disney’s Hollywood Studios showed clear progress on the Star Wars land near the Star Tours attraction.

Keep it here for more updates from D23 Expo 2017!
