New ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ and ‘Ratatouille’ attractions at Epcot announced at 2017 D23 Expo

More incredible news has just been announced at today’s Walt Disney Parks and Resorts presentation at D23 Expo 2017 with the revelation that Epcot will receive two new groundbreaking attractions, a Guardians of the Galaxy ride at Future World and a Ratatouille attraction at the France Pavilion!

Both attractions will open in time for the 50th Anniversary of Walt Disney World in 2021, according to Disney Parks Chairman Bob Chapek.

The Guardians of the Galaxy E-ticket attraction has a fantastic concept in that Peter Quill, who will one day become Star-Lord and the leader of the Guardians of the Galaxy, once visited Epcot as a child with his mother. Not much else has been revealed about the ride yet, but it will soon replace the Universe of Energy attraction, which will close August 13, 2017 (the same day as The Great Movie Ride, which itself is making for a new Mickey and Minnie-themed attraction).

The new Ratatouille attraction will expand the France Pavilion in World Showcase, a welcome addition to that area of Epcot which is devoid of rides.

According to Disney Parks Blog, the new ride is “similar to the 4-D attraction Ratatouille: The Adventure that opened at the Walt Disney Studios Park in Paris in 2014…Guests will be able to shrink to Remy’s size and scurry to safety in a dazzling chase across a kitchen with the sights, sounds and smells of Gusteau’s legendary Parisian restaurant.”

The wait for these two new attractions is going to be almost too much to bare, but Theme Parks & Beyond will be providing readers with all the news and developments as soon we hear them. Stay tuned!
