Walt Disney World has revealed additional details on the newly announced point-to-point transportation service using Minnie Mouse-themed vehicles.
Just days after the surprise announcement at the 2017 D23 Expo, the Chevrolet Traverse SUV vehicles will soon be deployed starting later this month for guests staying at Disney’s Boardwalk Resort and Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resorts, according to the Disney Parks Blog. All guests will have to do is arrange for a pickup using their smartphone and they can be dropped off anywhere in Walt Disney World.
According to multiple sources, including Kenny the Pirate, the system will be accessible via Lyft and will cost a flat fee of $20 each way, though that has not been officially confirmed by Disney yet. The vehicles will also reportedly have two car seats available as well. The service will soon expand to include anywhere within Walt Disney World.
The fee might be a tad high from a small family or a couple, but we can imagine the option will be tempting after walking around one of the parks all day, especially Magic Kingdom, with tired kids and older relatives just wanting to get back to the hotel. Plus, if you are with a large party or with friends you can also split the cost in order to take advantage of the convenience of having a private ride.
What do you think of this service? Do you think you’ll take advantage of it in your next trip to Walt Disney World?
