Vizcaya Museum and Gardens will be hosting a community event on Sunday, August 13 that will announce the results of a year-long study aimed at cleaning up Miami’s beautiful Biscayne Bay and educating the community.
“The Bay Drift Project: Art, Science and Trash” is a collaboration between Vizcaya, Frost Science and scientists from the University of Miami’s CARTHE to study where the trash that collects along the museum’s shoreline comes from.
The Biscayne Bay Drift Card Study, a citizen-science project, will announce the results of their research and what they hope to accomplish in their second year. The event will feature special events and hands-on experiments that the whole family can participate in as well as art creation in the spirit of science and discovery.
Event activities will take place from 2:00-5:00pm on Sunday, August 13, 2017. The event is free for Vizcaya members. Tickets can be purchased online at https://projectbaydrift.eventbrite.com.
